The Bible says that true love is a sign of maturity!
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek it’s own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Then in a few verses below this, Paul then goes on to say…
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:11
Love is a major sign of maturity!
Yahushua (Jesus Christ) gave us a great example in Matthew 5:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”- Matthew 5:43-48
Love is supposed to be unconditional because that’s how YAH loves us from heaven! HE makes the world continue as the sun goes up and rain comes to the just and to the unjust, when He could very well stop the sun and let all those who are unjust die, but judgement is for an appointed time! HE is not partial because HE loves ALL people regardless if they love HIM back or even if they don’t believe in Him, YAH doesn’t change like humans, HE doesn’t love us because of a situation or something we did or are doing! HE LOVES US because of who we are in HIM, and who we are called to be, so that’s why Yahushua said we are to be perfect and love how the Father in Heaven loves! When we learn to do this, this is truly the way to perfection, in other words this is the way we learn to become more and more Yahushua like!
“Therefore be imitators of YAH as beloved children and walk in love, as Yahushua loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” – Ephesians 5:1-2
“And above all these, have love, which is the bond of perfection” – Colossians 3:14
Love is never supposed to stop due to a situation. It’s easy to love someone who loves you back but it shows maturity to love and care for the one who is the hardest to love, the one who doesn’t show you the same love back! It is just like the love YAH shows us when often at times we don’t show Him that same love back due to lack of knowledge in how to truly serve Him, but yet He loves us like never before and has tremendous patience with us as we grow in Him! May we all learn to love like how our Father in Heaven loves! As YAH is the God of love!
