“And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of Yahuah, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
Wherefore the people did fought with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said to them, Why do you fight with me? why do you tempt Yahuah?
And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Why then have you caused us to be brought out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
And Moses cried unto the Yahuah, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.
And the Yahuah said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tested Yahuah, saying, Is Yahuah among us, or not?
Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of Elohim in mine hand.
So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
And Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
And Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
And the Yahuah said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” – Exodus 17:1-14
This story found in Exodus 17 is so symbolic with the trials we face in life…
This was a time Israel was thirsting and desired water! Israel lost faith in YAH (God) and began to test YAH, even though He did so much for them, like parting the red sea so they can escape from being Egypt’s slaves and many more miracles He did, yet they still tested His power as God! YAH wanted to show them He was still a mighty and faithful God, and that they shouldn’t be complaining but be thankful! So in the same moment Amalek came to battle Israel. During this battle YAH decided to use it as an example to show His might yet again! YAH (God) told Moses to stand on the side and watch the battle as Joshua and the Armies of Israel went to fight. YAH wanted Moses to raise his staff in his hand and as his staff is raised Joshua and Israel will win the battle! So as the battle progressed, Moses’ hands grew weary for being raised so long. As He dropped His hands, Israel’s enemy started to win the fight.
So in order for Israel to guarantee the victory, Moses had to trust YAH and keep his staff raised up. Even though the Israeli people didn’t, Moses had great faith in trusting YAH! This is why Moses fought to keep his hands raised while Israel fought in the battle. He did grow weary and needed help from Aaron and Hur as they even got Him a rock to sit on as he got tired, which you see in the picture above! Israel got the victory at the end! This story is so symbolic for the battles we face in life!
Moses’ hands being raised represents YAH wanting us to raise our hands in Praise and worship through every battle trusting in Him that He will give us the victory even in the toughest times during trials and battles we face! Aaron and the rock helping Moses keep his hands up, represents Yahushua (Jesus) holding us up when we feel weak during those tuff times and Yahushua said in our weakness we are made strong! (2 Cor. 12:9)
When we are able to keep our hands raised and praise and worship through the battles, storms and trials, this is the faith YAH wants to see and He will move greatly in our life! So through it all, keep those hands raised high and through the good and the bad give Him all the Glory! Continue to Praise through those STORMS!

Amen!! Loved this! Praise Him through the storm because without the water, the seeds cannot grow, without storms we’d have no inner shelter to build. It develops us, grows us. We go through the darkness because seeds start out in darkness under the ground in order to grow and the stars can’t shine without darkness. Trust the process. Praise Him through it all!!
Amen!!! Well said Natasha, truly beautiful, we gotta trust the process, and trust Yah as HE is in total control!
Amazing blog and story of the resilient faith of Moses!! Trusting the process knowing that all things will work together for His good as long as he Praises YAH!!
HalleluYAH, this is a wonderful word that can apply to everyday life, every season and every person. May we endure through thus walk with faith, patience and praise!!
Yes Mila! Praise Yah! Glory to the Most High!!! 😇
